About the Role
As a VC Analyst, you will be instrumental in supporting the investment process and accelerating the success of startups in our Ignition program. You’ll work closely with the investment team to identify, evaluate, and support early-stage ventures across Latin America. This role offers an exciting opportunity to engage with cutting-edge technology startups, connect with top investors, and make a significant impact in the startup ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

• Deal Sourcing: Identify and track promising startups in Latam across key industries (ClimaTech, HealthTech, FinTech, PropTech, Mobility, ManufactureTech).
• Due Diligence: Assist in evaluating potential investments, including market research, financial modeling, and analyzing product-market fit, scalability, and founder-market fit.
• Startup Support: Work closely with the startups in the Ignition program to provide valuable insights into fundraising strategies, business models, and go-to-market strategies.
• Investor Relations: Support the fundraising process by coordinating with investors, preparing investor materials, and tracking fund performance.
• Networking & Relationship Building: Leverage Powertrain Ventures’ vast network of investors, founders, and experts to create value for the startups and the fund.
• Reporting: Assist in preparing internal and external reports, including investment memos, quarterly updates, and program outcomes.

What You Bring

• Experience: 1-3 years of experience in venture capital, private equity, startup advisory, or management consulting. Experience in Latam markets is a plus.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, or related field. An MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
• Analytical Skills: Strong financial modeling, market analysis, and data-driven decision-making abilities.
• Passion for Startups: A keen interest in early-stage startups, innovation, and venture capital.
• Tech-Savvy: Comfort with analyzing tech-driven business models and understanding the latest trends in ClimaTech, HealthTech, FinTech, PropTech, and other transformative sectors.
• Language: Fluent in English and Spanish (both written and spoken) is required.
